A few weeks ago, a friend of mine and I decided to go to Brussels for a weekend. We left on Friday afternoon by train from Den Haag Holland Spoor, straight to Brussels Midi (Central Station), a ride that only took about 2 and a half hours. Our hotel/residence was around the corner from the St. Catherine square (featured below), and only a 5-10 minute walk from the center of the city.
As we arrived at around 5pm and had to find our hotel, we didn’t make our way out to the city till about 7pm. We went straight to the main square in the center of the city, the Grand Place – the famous UNESCO World Heritage site. I managed to capture some great shots as the evening light fell onto the square beautifully.
After walking around aimlessly for half an hour, we found a cute little Italian restaurant around the corner from the Grand Place – we ordered pizzas and shared a bottle of wine. After, we decided to grab a Belgian beer at a cafe on the Grasmarkt square.
A demain Bruxelles…
