bijenkorf kitchen (amsterdam)

The Bijenkorf (Dam 1), or ‘The Beehive,’ is a luxury department store featuring a wide selection of items, from clothing to home interiors and furniture, from books and CDs to baked goods and snacks. The Bijenkorf dates back to 1870 when Philip Goudsmit opened his first shop, selling buttons and sewing supplies, on the Nieuwedijk in Amsterdam. More information about the Bijenkorf on the website.

The Bijenkorf Kitchen, located on the top floor of the building, has been modeled as an ‘open kitchen‘ and features cuisines from all over the world. There’s even a frozen yoghurt counter of Frozz (see previous post). Here are some photographs from a recent visit to the Bijenkorf Kitchen…

The Bijenkorf (Dam 1) is open Sunday and Monday from 11am to 7pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 7pm, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 9.30pm and Saturday from 9.30am to 7pm. Click for more Amsterdam Insights, published every Wednesday.
